Maui County criminal-record questions usually belong with the government office that created the file. This private resource cannot retrieve or certify a record. Use the contacts below to route police reports to MPD Records, court files to Hoapili Hale, statewide conviction checks to HCJDC, and custody questions to the state correctional system.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

Need an Official Record?

The correct Maui County contact depends on the record itself:

  • Court case files: see criminal court cases, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Police and arrest reports: MPD Records, 55 Mahalani Street, Wailuku, (808) 244-6355; fax (808) 244-6418
  • Circuit criminal documents: Hoapili Hale Legal Documents, 2145 Main Street, Wailuku, (808) 244-2969; office 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., counter 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Conviction checks and repository records: Hawaiʻi Criminal Justice Data Center through eCrim or HCJDC services
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Expungement and record sealing: file with the court that heard the case

Maui County does not have a sheriff-run records unit. The county police custodian is MPD Records Section, 55 Mahalani Street, Wailuku, HI 96793, (808) 244-6355. Mail, fax, and the County GovQA UIPA portal are available; the current MPD page should be checked before an in-person visit.
